The Library room at Barrow House, Kerry,

The house has eight luxurious ensuite superking, king and twin bedrooms and one large family suite.

All rooms have sea views across Barrow Bay or views to our  landscaped gardens and grounds.

Our beds are made with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down duvets and pillows.

We offer complimentary wi-fi, toiletries and treats in

a guest picnic hamper.

Egret

Our mornings matter.

The way we wake up sets the tone for the entire day.

However, a good start to the day begins far before our alarms ring. The secret is sleeping deeply.

The oxygenated and filtered air of the Atlantic, the soundproofing

 in the rooms and hand made beds all combine to give you

every chance of the

best nights sleep.

 

Egret is one of the largest bedrooms in the house, with a private garden terrace balcony.

with  full height Georgian bay windows providing uninterrupted views over Barrow Harbour.

Cushioned window seats and binoculars are supplied

for bird watching.

There is a full size bathroom with a rain shower and deep tub,

also with spectacular uninterrupted views over the the water and Mount Brandon.

Heron

Stretch your arms out; bat your eyelids open;

perhaps, if you’re lucky,

curl into your blankets for another stolen minute or two to dream.

Roll over, check your phone, sit up, yawn and take in the panoramic sea view..

With  large double bay windows Heron offers unique stunning panoramic views

 across the water of Barrow Bay and on to the Slieve Mish mountain range.

 

The "Tracey Boyd" designed bed has dressed with goose feather

and down bedding. Heron is en suite with a well

stocked shower room.

There is also a work desk, original oil paintings and  artworks,

and we have provided a telescope for night sky stargazing.

Curlew

A large and unique 2 bedroom

(4 person) suite. 

 

Both generous bedrooms come with a king size bed, a desk and seating area.

Curlew is  decorated with handpainted panoramic wallpapers,

antique French bed frames,

window shutters.

This accommodation also has a separate private ensuite shower room

and a bathtub with access from two rooms onto to a private garden terrace.

 

This apartment sleeps four and is also a great choice as a family room or for two individuals who would like the privacy of their own bedroom

within an en suite layout.

An elegant art filled spacious room on the first floor.

Warm, bright with a super king sized bed.

The Golden room has floor to ceiling black out curtains made of the finest wool fabric.

Comfortable armchairs and seating with a work desk and a double wardrobe.

There is an ensuite shower room from which you have access

to your own private seating in

a garden terrace.

An enormous room, with plenty of space for two guests to spread out. 


A one of a kind in Ireland.  Puffin houses a Qing Dynasty Opulent Marriage Bed

Destined for one of the most private spaces of the home. Constructed to serve an important public function as a display of wealth and status. These valuable hand carved canopy beds told an important story about a family’s religious, social, and economic role in society.

Our Chinese Marriage Bed is a 2m long and  1.15m wide double bed.

 Puffin has a large shower and bathroom ensuite

including a deep tub to soak in.

Teal

The glamorous snug.

 

Recently redecorated in opulent jewel colours and travel momento's

from the far east.

 

Teal has a clubhouse

contemporary style. 

Teal  is our perfectly formed small hideaway with an art

filled vestibule entrance,

 

It boasts an opulent, deep filled goose down duvet on a double bed,

an ensuite shower room and solo access to a large private garden terrace with a sea view .

Whilst Teal is our smallest room in size, it is big on style.

Cormorant room.

Cormorant

An extra large spacious room with uninterrupted views from two window seats

looking over Barrow Bay towards Fenit and the world famous Lighthouse.

 

The sunrises seen from Cormorant are a house favourite

The room has a goose down super king sized bed, Luxuriate on the velvet chaise longue

and comfortable seating area.

FACILITIES
 

It occasionally rains on the West Coast of Ireland so we have added some useful guest facilities including a screening/projector room and a drying room...just in case!

A locally sourced full a la carte Irish cooked menu is available at the shared table in the breakfast room. Delicious chef cooked food to start your day.

CHECK IN/OUT
 

Check in is from 3pm until 8pm. If you wish to check in outside of these times, please arrange before arrival. We politely ask that guests vacate their room on departure day by 11am

NO TELEVISION
 

Barrow House does not have televisions in bedrooms but instead we encourage guests to enjoy the outdoors, great conversations in good company or to simply relax in our beautiful lounges by the fireplace with  books, music and board games .

ACCESSIBILITY
 

Barrow House is a Georgian period property built over six levels with no lift. We regret to inform that neither Barrow House nor The Rookery is suitable for guests with reduced mobility.   

PETS
 

 Barrow House is pet friendly, and small dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only. We accommodate one

(knee high or smaller) dogs per guest booking in our two bedroom suite
